TOM WAITS
Still travelling, though not for much longer. The experience has
been fantastic. Sometimes confusing, often frustrating, but
having got to the seven month stage looking back on it all seems
so surreal. No I haven't eaten any pizzas with magic drugs on top,
no I haven't hung out in flip-flops drinking with Billy Gap Year and
I certainly haven't thrust my camera in the faces of the mad ethnic
people. I did see a topless woman with black teeth though and that
shit was odd.
Anyway, flight back to Tory run London on the 29th June. Oh, and I
just dropped a silly amount of money on tickets to see Tom Waits in
Edinburgh in July, flights and all. Hoist THAT rag.

Two photos I like. Firstly Mt.Khanchendzonga from Pelling W.Sikkim.
Secondly some temple detail from Luang Prabang in Laos.
See you.

REVENGE OF SHINOBI

Well well well, Edi and I are busing it around South India in
search of temples and the like. The blog we keep is still getting
serviced from all kinds of crap internet cafes.
Just a note to say that we miss London,
and its South East hotspots. One thing we'll definitely miss is
seeing our friend Seb's band Revenge of Shinobi at the Amersham
Arms on the 25th. They do rock like kings and I wish I could go.
Check them out. Looking forward to gigs in New X when we return.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
Happy new year. We're still hanging on in India.
One of the highlights of 2007 was this, ROCK BOTTOM RISER.
We are still posting here.

Away in India
Edi and I have been in India for just over a month
and are trying to keep a blog over at
The frequency of posts very much depends on where we
are, but hopefully it'll get a seeing to at least once a week.
Something about the dark, wet streets of South London
stirs me every night, but we'll soldier on for now!

What kind of apple makes this pie taste so sweet?

Been in Leeds to visit my Dad. Jack and I skated at Hyde
Park. I sucked and he ripped. Jamie Bolland's section in
the new Harmony video has made me want to go out and
skate more than any section in a long time though so
hopefully I'll get at least one good session before India.
My Dad got a rescued greyhound/? recently, nice looking
dog I think. Going to see David Thomas Broughton tonight.
I urge you to listen to his Myspace songs, they're
fantastic. We're seeing people/places for the last time before
we travel to India which hasn't really struck me as being sad
yet, probably because we're still here amongst Lib Dem
judai (plural), eastenders and night buses, but I imagine
when we arrive in Delhi all that will change.
Dad and I went fishing and caught nothing between us in seven
hours, that's the kind of thing that I don't want to leave behind.

Resusitation of a Hanged Man

Well I tried to grow a beard (of sorts), but it didn't
satisfy my hunger for hair (all neck no face) so I shaved it
off and got a new smart haircut too. It's all about the
sensible, clean look now. We're going to see Battles again
tomorrow (fourth time this year!), should be good,
but I kind of wish I'd got tickets for Les Savy Fav
at the Scala instead. I'm sure I'll be eating these words
after the gig.
I've read some good books lately:
The Dice Man by Luke Rhineheart
Really The Blues by Mezz Mezzrow
The Body and The Buddha of Suburbia by Hanif Kureishi
Resusitation of a Hanged Man by Denis Johnson
I might step up and attempt to read Proust in India. I did
a lot of it at university, but never actually read it properly.
Guy and I drunkenly claimed the gayest tattoo ever;
'In search of lost time' or 'A la recherche...' for the hardcore,
somewhere discreet, in italics probably, for the first one
to read it.
Some good albums I've recently listened to:
Populuxxe by Cutting Pink With Knives
Let's Stay Friends by Les Savy Fav
Strawberry Jam by Animal Collective
Star Destroyer by Alex Delivery
Friend Opportunity by Deerhoof
Plus some Panda Bear, Lightning Bolt and Residents.
Lists, lists, lists, must be bored!
Two days of work left. That'll be 51 weeks spent on the
Deptford Trading Estate, Blackhorse Rd. Joy. A trip
to Lewisham for Indian treats then a pint in the newly
revamped Amersham Arms to celebrate perhaps.

NEW CROSS
We're all leaving this weekend! SHIT SHIT SHIT.
Off to bigger and brighter things for as long as we
can stand the bright white light then moving back
to NEW CROSS ASAP to eat curry, drink alcohol
and cherry cola and ponce around Deptford like
a bunch of twats (get careers? go back to school?! dole!).
Listen to the new CPWK song on their myspazz 'Airz',
it's totally fucking amazing.
Growing the worst beard ever til we go to India (still
one month). Sadness.
I love Se14 (8) (13)
